This Privacy Policy explains how Viz Estimate ("Viz Estimate," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when a merchant installs or uses the Viz Estimate delivery-estimate application and related website (together, the "Service").
1. Information we collect
Merchant and store information
When the app is installed, Shopify provides information needed to identify and operate the installation, including the shop domain, shop name, app-installation identifier, and access credentials. Access credentials are encrypted at rest and used only to provide the Service.
App configuration
We process the settings a merchant chooses, including delivery windows, cutoff times, off-days, holidays, widget labels, selected designs, colors, icons, and theme placement preferences.
Store data
The Service uses app-installation configuration and online-store theme extension data required to display, configure, or place the delivery-estimate widget. Viz Estimate does not intentionally collect customer order details or customer payment information as part of its core delivery-widget functionality.
Technical information
We may receive standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, timestamps, diagnostic events, and server logs when the Service or website is used.
2. How we use information
- Provide, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the Service.
- Save merchant settings and render the selected storefront widget.
- Respond to support requests and communicate service-related notices.
- Monitor performance, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
- Comply with applicable law and enforce our agreements.
3. Legal bases
Where applicable, we process personal information to perform our contract with the merchant, pursue legitimate interests such as securing and improving the Service, comply with legal obligations, or act with consent when consent is required.
4. How we share information
We may share information with hosting, infrastructure, monitoring, and support providers that process information on our behalf and under appropriate confidentiality obligations. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a corporate transaction. We do not sell personal information.
5. Retention and deletion
We keep information only for as long as needed to provide the Service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security. Following uninstall, store information is deleted or anonymized according to our retention process and applicable Shopify privacy requirements. Valid access, deletion, and shop-redaction requests are handled through Shopify's mandatory compliance process.
6. International processing
Service providers may process information in countries other than the merchant's country. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
8. Your rights
Depending on location, individuals may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to receive a portable copy of personal information. Merchants can submit a request through the support contact displayed on the Viz Estimate App Store listing. Customers of a merchant should contact that merchant first; Shopify's privacy request process will route applicable requests to us.
9. Cookies
Our public website may use essential cookies or similar technologies needed for security and basic functionality. We do not use the storefront delivery widget for cross-site advertising.
10. Children's privacy
The Service is designed for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Service.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the Service, law, or our practices. The effective date at the top indicates the latest revision.
